The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has inspected a number of refinery projects in Alexandria, a Press release issued by the ministry reported.
During his visit, El Molla highlighted the importance of enhancing the experience of refinery companies to increase their income and boost the national economy. He added that this can be achieved through the implementation of new projects that are attractive for investments, have sustainability and are connected to the future.
During his visit to the petroleum geographic zone, the minister affirmed that the updates to the Al Amerya refinery will allow it to play an important role in the production of petroleum products that will help expand the local market and keep up with the global energy industry.
For his part, the president of Al Amreya Petroleum Refining Company (APRC), Mabrouk Abd Allah, highlighted several projects that his company is working on during the current and next fiscal year. This includes, but is not limited to, the replacement and improvement of aromatics facilities, the renovation of petroleum products tanks, as well as health, safety and environmental projects.
Additionally, Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemical Company (ANRPC) president Salah Gaber showed the company’s future projects, including the project to increase high-octane production at costs of $ 12 million to boost production of the company to 2 million tons per year; in addition to an initiative to take advantage of hydrogen gases to maximize butane production to 21,000 tons with investments of 136 million EGP.
