Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been urged to consider leaving Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
Cavani struggled for fitness in the early stages of the campaign, and was compulsively forced to settle for making cameo appearances from the bench in two of his three appearances before the international break.
Former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet is not convinced that his fellow Uruguayan’s situation will improve, after he was left on the bench for his country’s recent clashes against Colombia and Argentina.
Poyet believes leaving Old Trafford could be the best option for Cavani at this stage of his career.
“He’s unlucky, because without Ronaldo coming in, he’s playing as the main striker,” Poyet said. talkSPORT.
“Juventus’ decision, Man City involves, is incredible against someone especially – and that’s Cavani.
“Maybe he should move in January.
“From the outside, I don’t know him, but if I were him, seeing what the situation is now, and seeing him not reach 90 minutes for the national team because he’s not playing – maybe.”
