A loving Blantyre couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Gordon and Isobel Robinson enjoyed a festive meal at the Greenhall Farm estate to mark 60 years of marital bliss.
The couple, who have a daughter and three grandchildren living in Ireland, were delighted to receive flowers on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council and of course a certificate to mark their special occasion from Her Majesty the Queen, given by Lord Provost Ian McAllan.

They also enjoyed a lovely cake and an afternoon of celebration back at their Main Street, Blantyre, home.
Gordon and Isobel met and worked at George Boyd’s in Glasgow the other day.
Gordon worked for the Trade Federation covering Scotland and the North of England. When he retired he was a volunteer ambulance driver for 12 years. His hobbies include playing pumpkin and badminton and he still supports his beloved Hamilton Accies to this day.
Isobel joined the Church at age 16, and has been involved within Blantyre Old Parish Church in recent years volunteering as Brown Owl in Brownies, Sunday School teacher, an Elder, Woman’s Guild President and a member. of the Celebration Group.
She also spends a lot of fun time a year making her crochet.
They have a shared love of gardening and their family.
When their daughter was older, Isobel worked at the local ‘Wilson’s’ store for 20 years, she also volunteered at The Haven Blantyre for 12 years.
