Consett Rocks was founded in August 2020 by Stephanie Winter and Victoria Morris. Created as a place where people can come together to be creative, to spread happiness and make people smile by hiding stone decorations that can be found. Anyone can participate, we encourage adults and children of all ages, no artistic ability required, just have fun.
We just asked if you saw a rock please post a photo on Consett Rocks Facebook page for the artist to see the happiness they have created. Hide the stone or hide it again.
This group has helped many people, in many ways some with anxiety, sadness and for some people caused them to walk while in lockdown.
Consett Rocker 1:
“My daughter really has bad anxiety so when we see a rock her little face is always on fire. She always asks if we can go on a rock hunt. She understands that we may not always find one. a stone that we have a small collection but my daughter knows where each one is found, it really takes her mind off everyone and makes her happy. ”
Consett Rocker 2:
“For me, Consett Rocks has been therapy and a sanity saver. After 16 months of shelter (I have severe asthma) my mental health has suffered. Painting the rocks has given me so much that fun, and the posts from the people who found them always excite me. It’s the best group, and the most wonderful hobby. “
Consett Rocker 3:
“For me, it became part of my rehab from surgery. I go hunting! Some I keep, as part of the trip, some I re -register. It’s so good for my mental health, and physical well-being, just to get out and walk, with a purpose. “
