Thanksgiving 2021 will be the 15th year of celebrations in Canada in which I have participated.
So far, I love cake, all cake and more cake, and our Canadian family bonding.
Last night we asked our son what Thanksgiving meant to him, and his first response was Turkey.
Intelligent as a whistle, this young man, although he does not eat meat unless he is in a Pizza.
Today’s post is Thanksgiving 2021 feelings and how things have changed but have never been forgotten.
Thoughts around the table for Thanksgiving and how we celebrate moving forward.
Then we asked him what else Thanksgiving meant and he said our family.
Coming from a seven year old who is beginning to understand faith and holidays, I would say he responded well.
Just as a child is learning about Thanksgiving, I do the same and each year we have new customs.
Although traditions can change, you never forget the happiest moments of your life.
Learning about Thanksgiving 2021 in the Church
I’m not religious, but Mrs. CBB takes him to religious night school once a week at church.
He has already received his baptism and will have his communion and then confirmation next spring.
This week he found out about the seven sacraments, crafts and ending the evening with a prayer.
When he came out when I picked them up, I asked him what he had learned in class.
He replied, “Family” because they are your family forever. Good answer, I thought.
Looking at our kitchen wall, she drew a picture of our family when she was three years old.
Family means so much to our son that he calls his cousin a million times a day on his tablet.
Celebrating Thanksgiving 2021 without parents
The only part of Thanksgiving that is missing is grandparents and family in the UK; although we do not celebrate the party,
While walking to pick up our son from school yesterday, Mrs. CBB said that so much has changed that it is difficult to process new traditions.
Family is everything to us, and when there is a death or illness in the family, the dynamics change.
That is difficult for children and adults who have a family that has left this earth and has passed away.
That is why it is important to Ms. CBB that our son learns about God and faith, so that he has something to believe in.
Almost every Sunday, he asks about his grandfather and why God took him to heaven.
It is not easy to explain death to a young child, but he will always remember it in his heart and mind.
Family has a huge impact on everyone, even if they don’t get along or haven’t spoken in years.
Family is still family, and just because they can’t celebrate Thanksgiving around the table, they are in our hearts.
Thanksgiving Goals for 2021 for our family
For this Thanksgiving Day, our goal is to be grateful for yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Although not everything from yesterday went according to plan, it may not be today, but there is always tomorrow.
Whatever you are going through in your life or what you have been through gives you the strength to move on.
Since I did not celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, it has been a day that I have thought about my life.
I don’t know why I wait until Thanksgiving to remember all the amazing things that have happened to me.
Sometimes it is hard to believe that I live in Canada and have a wife and a son.
I am also grateful for my career opportunities, but it is my family that means the most.
I wouldn’t be able to do half the things I’ve done if it weren’t for Mrs. CBB, who is pointy.
Although I stay a bit reserved, she realizes that talking about family will make me happy.
Not seeing my family is difficult, although a phone call is always essential with my parents.
Christmas memories are the ones that hurt the most
Unfortunately, my wife can’t do that, and it hits her in the heart because memories hurt the most.
From the big juicy turkey to lasagna, cheese and vegetable dishes, mashed potatoes, ham, yams, wine, salads and being together with the family has changed.
She told me to never stop loving my parents and to always contact the family if I couldn’t be with them.
It’s not until they leave that you wish you could say or do something with them that you never had a chance.
Perhaps, like Ms. CBB, it is the holidays that hurt the most because they have a special meaning for your family.
I asked her what Thanksgiving meant to her and she said her family.
The food is good, but having the family together to create memories is the most important thing to her.
From decorating the Thanksgiving table to helping your siblings help your mom put the finishing touches on her food.
Stories around the dining room table
His father was always at the dining room table with a bottle of liquor, wine, and shot glasses, telling us stories from his past.
Now he understands why he always talked about what he did as a child and throughout the years.
He left her with stories and memories that she was able to share with our son, so it became a legacy.
That’s the big part of the family when there’s always a story to tell.
When someone in the family passes away, the holidays become a time to reinvent the wheel a bit.
Although Thanksgiving may be similar, it comes with a different setting and without the people you love.
It may take years to move on, but Ms. CBB said this time is as important to our son as it was to her.
Moving forward is difficult, but you can still carry Thanksgiving traditions and make yours.
Thanksgiving 2021 A time to hold hands and reflect
Sometimes people don’t think children understand special occasions or death, but they do.
You feel it in your heart, and on a special day like Thanksgiving, it is important to remember those who are not with us.
This year, Mrs. CBB has asked her son to lead a little prayer before Thanksgiving dinner.
Currently, he knows how to recite the “Our father,“For him to guide us in that prayer.
Then we’ll take a quick walk around the table and ask everyone what they’re thankful for.
As much as it hurts, moving forward is the only way to go because there is no going back in time.
There is nothing wrong with having dessert before Thanksgiving dinner.

Thoughts and quotes from Mr. CBB
Thank yourself and treat people with kindness
It is no secret that we can live the life we are in only once before we die.
During this time, be kind to yourself, your body, and live as stress-free as possible.
Take long walks, enjoy the scenery, and get back what you have given in a hurry.
Above all, treat people with kindness as they usually turn to you.
Frugal Thanksgiving recipe ideas
They asked me to bring two Thanksgiving treats to our family reunion, so I went with the most popular one on CBB.
There will also be a homemade pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream on top.
