DENVER (KDVR) – This weekend in Colorado will consist of warm and cool temperatures with windy winds.
Saturday will be the warm day, with highs reaching in the mid-70s. There will be passing clouds at times. It will be windy in the afternoon when a cold front approaches. So expect gusts of up to 30 mph for a few hours.
On Sunday, we will be behind the cold front with less wind, lots of sun and cooler temperatures between 60 and a half degrees.
The mountains of Colorado will deal with gusts of wind and cold temperatures, along with rain and snow accumulation.
So if you plan to go see the fall colors, you will need to dress up and plan for winter conditions. This appears to be the last weekend to see it as the storm is likely to wash away most of the leaves.
We are tracking another possibility of snow on the mountain with a more powerful storm on Tuesday. Some mountainous areas can see up to 6 inches of snow.
Across Denver and the Front Range, we forecast rain Tuesday that could last into the early hours of Wednesday. Some metro communities above 6,000 feet may see a mix of rain / snow early Wednesday before quickly ends and the sun returns.
