The energy reform initiative sent by the AMLO to the Chamber of Deputies contemplates the disappearance of regulatory bodies in energy matters.
The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), reported today that yesterday the initiative for the constitutional reform in electricity matters was sent to the Chamber of Deputies.
The president explained that it is necessary for the Federal Government to control energy prices so that the popular economy is not affected.
The reform sent by the executive includes modifications to articles 25, 27 and 28 of the Constitution, in addition to including 9 transitory articles.
It also includes the modification of the energy sector regulators and the state market operators.
Today the president explained that it is proposed that the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) be incorporated into the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
The proposal also contemplates the disappearance of the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), so that their functions are carried out by the Ministry of Energy (SENER).
