An Afghan businesswoman and activist has spoken of her relief to leave Afghanistan on a British military plane.
“Everybody got really emotional, most of us started crying a lot,” Hassina Syed told BBC Newsnight’s Kirsty Wark.
Syed showed up at the airport with his Afghan passport and his British driving license. Her husband and children are in the UK.
She said the women who are still in Afghanistan are worried and want to get out, although she has seen a little change in the Taliban, which makes her “a bit hopeful.”
